Crystal Palace have agreed to sign Everton attacker Dwight McNeil in a £20 million deal before the deadline this evening, according to The Athletic.
Palace saw an earlier bid during the day knocked back for the Toffees star but have now convinced the Hill Dickinson Stadium club with their latest offer.
McNeil could complete a move to the Selhurst Park club tonight and is currently undergoing a medical.
However, there are no guarantees the move will be completed as both Everton and the Eagles are in a race against time ahead of the deadline.
A deal sheet may be required if the deal is to get over the line, and the attacker will be praying things work out as he wants to play regular football.
The 26-year-old has made 18 appearances across all competitions for Everton this season but has only started seven games in the Premier League.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner appears to have promised him more playing minutes, and he will be desperate to complete the move.
The Eagles have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen tonight, while Welsh attacker Brennan Johnson joined them earlier in the window from Tottenham Hotspur.
Adding McNeil to their attack could be a huge boost for Palace if the Everton man manages to hit the ground running at Selhurst Park.
He was initially linked with a reunion with Sean Dyche at Nottingham Forest, but it is the Eagles that have managed to convince him and Everton into agreeing to a deal.
The Englishman needs to prove his quality all over again after falling out of favour at the Merseyside club, and a move to Palace could give him an opportunity to do so.
