In a recent report, The Athletic (subscription required) mentioned that Crystal Palace are among the clubs hoping to land Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jørgen Strand Larsen. It has been claimed that the Eagles would have to compete with Leeds United in the race to sign the Norwegian talent.

Larsen’s Good Form In The Premier League

Larsen has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Midlands club as he has produced a string of impressive displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The Norwegian forward has banged in six goals and picked up a couple of assists in 25 matches for Wolves this season across various competitions.

The 25-year-old has led the line well at times and has done well to average 1.30 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has kept 35% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Molineux Stadium will expire in the summer of 2030. Hence, the Eagles would have to make a convincing offer if they want to win the race for his services.

Will Larsen Be A Good Fit For Crystal Palace Boss Oliver Glasner?

Larsen excels at creating some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer some promising chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

Standing at 1.93m, the Norwegian talent can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition defenders in the air. However, he needs to find a way to be more consistent in front of the opponent’s goal.

We can expect Larson to enhance the quality of Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner’s attack. He is good enough to serve as an ideal back up to Jean-Phillipe Mateta at the London club.

At 25, Larsen has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for the Eagles to consider this year. However, he is far from a prolific forward and could struggle to earn regular playing time at Selhurst Park. Still, Crystal Palace should focus on going all out to win the race for his services this winter or at the end of this campaign.
