The Eagles have contacted the defender’s representatives as they look to strengthen their backline.
However, they face stiff competition from Stade Rennais, who are also tracking the highly rated Englishman.
Cresswell prefers a return to England, making Palace the front-runners to sign him.
Palace’s move for the ‘excellent‘ 23-year-old comes as the club braces for a formal approach from Chelsea for star centre-back Maxence Lacroix.
Having already lost Marc Guehi to Manchester City in January, Palace are determined not to suffer another defensive departure without a replacement.
New manager Pierre Sage is reportedly a big admirer of Cresswell, having observed his development in France.
The former Leeds United academy graduate has evolved into a commanding defender at Toulouse, making him an ideal target for the Europa Conference League champions.
Cresswell’s stock has risen following a standout campaign in France and a dominant run anchoring the England U21 defence en route to tournament glory.
His current contract runs until 2028, and while Toulouse are expected to demand a significant fee, Cresswell’s desire to return home puts the ball in Palace’s court.
Elsewhere, Palace have also been linked with a move for Shea Charles, though Leeds are believed to be leading the race for him.
