Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi's become the subject of fresh transfer battle after Liverpool’s 35m sterling pound deal collapsed in the final hours of the summer window.

Liverpool Deal Blocked

The Reds'd reached agreement with Guehi completing medical and 5 year contract prepared. But Palace pulled the plug after failing to secure replacement despite the England international entering the final year of his deal.

Man City Join Elite Contenders

According to the Daily Mirror, Man City have emerged as surprise contenders. Pep Guardiola’s side view Guehi 25 as perfect fit especially after he helped Palace defeat City in last season’s FA cup final.

The defender's also attracting interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Juventus.

Manager Oliver Glasner stressed he cannot be sold without ready made replacement describing him as "essential" to the club’s ambitions this season.
