Santos’ CT Rei Pelé has been selected by FIFA as one of the training centres that will host national teams during the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

According to Diario Do Peixe, all 38 chosen centres have associated accommodation, and the 32 teams that qualify will choose their bases.

In March last year, Sereias da Vila coordinator Thais Picarte said the club intended to put itself forward as a host site.

FIFA carried out a nationwide inspection process in more than five phases between November 2024 and March 2026. The final phase focused on evaluating 42 pitches across nine cities.

Over one and a half years, technical experts visited 52 cities in 19 Brazilian states and assessed 261 venues. Twelve of the selected centres previously hosted national teams during the 2014 men’s World Cup.
