According to Globo.com, Cuca has left Neymar’s involvement in doubt for Santos’ decisive second leg against Remo. The tie is on Tuesday at Mangueirão in Belém at 21:30 Brasília time, with a Copa do Brasil quarter-final place at stake.
Santos drew 0-0 at Vila Belmiro on Saturday night, so they need a win to advance. Neymar completed 90 minutes, his first full match in 74 days.
On Monday night he has a charity auction for his institute in São Paulo, while Santos are due to travel to Pará earlier in the day. Cuca said the board would handle that matter and that he plans to reassess the player on the squad’s return on Sunday at CT Rei Pelé.
The coach added that selection depends on the level of fatigue shown in Sunday’s tests. The routine includes regenerative work and CK measurements from blood samples to gauge tiredness and potential injury risk.
He praised Neymar’s display, noting the forward sought the game, was more influential before the break, then operated inside and wider as space tightened. Santos created clear chances but did not take them, and he felt they could have won.
The squad reconvenes on Sunday and will train on Monday morning before flying to Belém.
