Eartha Cumings was delighted to make her first WSL start of the season for City in our 4-1 win over West Ham.
An impressively dominant afternoon on the final day of the Women’s Super League saw City run riot in London to round off a stunning campaign.
City went into the game already aware they were champions, and the guard of honour from the Hammers pre-match was a sign of what they had worked hard all season for.
A first goal in the WSL from Jade Rose saw City take a deserved lead into half time, and we only looked to build on that in the final 45 minutes of the league season.
Strikes from Bunny Shaw, either side of Seraina Piubel’s close-range finish, put City in total control, before a final goal in the league for Laura Coombs rounded off a stunning afternoon for the Blues.
On what was her WSL debut for City, Cumings was all smiles post-match after being handed the gloves for the first time in the league.

“It was so much fun,” the Scotland international said as she celebrated post-match. “It was amazing to be out on the pitch with the girls for the final game.
“Our environment is just amazing, and everybody in here (the dressing room) is so special, and this is such a nice team to be a part of, and it’s just wonderful to be here every day.”
Cumings pulled off an out-of-this-world double save late in the game to ensure City did not have a nervy end to the match, showing the qualities she has as a goalkeeper.
The Scottish shot-stopper was proud to be trusted with the role of starting on the day City lifted the title for the first time since 2016.
She added: ”This is an amazing achievement from the whole group, and I’m so proud to be a part of this team, and we’ve been building up to this moment all season.”
