Daniel Farke has named an unchanged Leeds United XI to face bottom side Wolves at Elland Road, boosted by Joe Rodon’s rapid return to the bench.
Rodon is back only two weeks after sustaining an ankle injury in the FA Cup quarter-final win at West Ham, replacing Sam Byram among the substitutes. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte is again on the bench.
On Thursday Farke said Rodon, Anton Stach and Dan James remained out, though none was completely ruled out. He said Rodon and Stach were likely out until May and had not rejoined team training, with all three assessed day to day. James injured his adductor before the West Ham tie and has not featured since.
Gabi Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Noah Okafor all overcame issues to start Monday’s 2-1 win at Manchester United. Ao Tanaka’s limp at Old Trafford was only cramp.
Wolves boss Rob Edwards makes two enforced changes. Suspended Yerson Mosquera is replaced by Toti, and injured Jose Sa misses out, so Dan Bentley makes his first start of the season. Under-21 goalkeeper Alfie Brooks is named on a Premier League bench for the first time.
Leeds start Darlow, with a defence of Bogle, Justin, Bijol and Struijk, midfielders Gudmundsson, Ampadu and Tanaka, and a front line of Okafor, Aaronson and Calvert-Lewin. Wolves line up with Bentley, then Tchatchoua, Toti, S Bueno, Krejci, H Bueno, followed by Andre, J Gomes, A Gomes, and Bellegarde with Armstrong.
