Danjuma’s last chance to avoid six months without a league goal

Arnaut Danjuma heads to Sevilla on Saturday with a final chance to end his La Liga drought for Valencia before the international break. Valencia’s next game is on 5 April.

AS notes that it has been a tough season for the Dutch forward. On 30 September he scored after four minutes against Oviedo, then missed a late penalty that would have made it 2-0, and Valencia suffered a comeback defeat at Mestalla, one of the most painful in recent times.

If he does not find the net at the Pizjuán on Saturday, it will be six months since his last league goal. He would enter the break still searching for relief.

His campaign began brightly, with three goals in the first seven league games, then his finishing faded abruptly. His only lift since has been in the Copa against Maracena of the División de Honor Andaluza, on 28 October.

Since the Oviedo goal he has started 12 times and come on seven more as a substitute. Corberán has not entirely lost faith, and the hope is that Danjuma ends the curse soon.
