Danny Imray ‘set for’ £5m move to Wrexham | OneFootball

The Telegraph reports that Danny Imray is set for a £5m move to Wrexham from Crystal Palace. The former West Brom loanee has been on Albion’s radar after impressing at The Hawthorns last season.

The Eagles academy graduate, who turns 23 on Monday, is expected to leave Selhurst Park permanently. He recovered from a shaky start to become a key figure in Albion’s fight for Championship survival under James Morrison.

Morrison made no secret of wanting Imray back and Albion monitored the situation, but a move elsewhere has been agreed. The right-back has also featured in Palace’s pre-season under new head coach Pierre Sage.

Wrexham, managed by Phil Parkinson, finished one place and two points outside the play-offs in their first Championship season after three successive promotions.

Asked about Imray after Saturday’s 4-1 friendly win at Shrewsbury, Morrison declined to discuss a player at another club.

The development follows Albion’s pursuit of French right-back Nolan Galvez intensifying over the weekend. Galvez, 23, shone for Rodez in France’s second tier last season, and Albion are working on a deal amid interest from Southampton and other English clubs.

Left-back Conor Townsend, 33, became Albion’s fifth summer signing on Friday night, sealing a return to The Hawthorns after two years away.
