Danny Simpson has been talking about England and a number of Newcastle United players.
Going on to win the Premier League title with Leicester, Simpson was a key player in the United team that finished fifth in the 2011/12 season.
Danny Simpson though focusing on a number of current Newcastle United stars.
With the former NUFC right-back stating that Tino Livramento doesn’t need to move to a ‘bigger’ club, that he can achieve his ambitions with Newcastle United AND should start for England at next summer’s World Cup finals.
Danny Simpson believing that Anthony Gordon should also be first choice for England, with both him and Tino, playing together on the left side.
Danny Simpson asked by Dream Vegas; ‘How far can Tino Livramento go? Can he make England’s World Cup squad next summer?’
“Tino Livramento has really impressed me, playing both left and right back shows his versatility, and his athleticism.
“He doesn’t get fazed and he’s got a good mindset. He’s done well for England too.
“I would want to start Tino Livramento at left back for England, just for his athleticism, and because I want Anthony Gordon on the left wing.
“Relationships are key and over the years we haven’t used that enough for England.
“Those two with their relationship at Newcastle, with their energy down the left, not many will physically outdo them.
“He’s better off at Newcastle, where he can play week in, week out. He’s getting into England squads already, so he doesn’t need to go to a ‘bigger’ club.
“He’ll be learning off Kieran Trippier every day too. For his development, he should stay at Newcastle, enjoy his football, and try to win another trophy.”
Danny Simpson asked; ‘Jason Murphy and Harvey Barnes have stood out for Newcastle this season, would you say either of those players are among the most underrated in the Premier League. Did they deserve to be called up to the England squad?’
“To get into England in those winger positions you’ve got to be on fire because of the quality in that team.
“Have they got the quality? Yes. Harvey Barnes has played for England before too. He was at Leicester when he got called up.
“There’s no reason why they can’t but in those positions the talent is incredible.
“Jacob Murphy, I think he got around 12 assists last year, that was unbelievable, but England for him may be a stretch.
