City’s Premier League 2 Round of 16 play-off clash with Liverpool has been confirmed for Friday, April 25.

Ben Wilkinson’s Elite Development Squad will play host to the Merseysiders at the Joie Stadium with the action getting underway at 19.00pm (UK).

The City youngsters finished top of the PL2 table across the regular season after a superb campaign whilst Liverpool were in 16th position.

As a result, it means City will enjoy home advantage as the knockout stage of the competition gets underway.

That will also be the case in each subsequent round should City progress, with the play-off champions determined by four single-leg knockout matches.

The City youngsters last faced Liverpool on the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign, losing 3-1 on Merseyside.

However, City would go on to lose just two more fixtures across the league phase of Premier League 2, rounding off the regular season with last week's 4-0 win over Newcastle.
