Dayot Upamecano (27) is nearing a contract extension at Bayern Munich, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
There has been uncertainty surrounding the Frenchman’s future for several months. His contract at the Bavarian club is up at the end of the season and he has kept his options open. His performances, both for Bayern Munich and for the France national team, have drawn attention from Europe’s elite.
Reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been open to meeting Upamecano’s wage demands and have made their interest in the player known, whilst Real Madrid have also been touted as a potential destination for the former RB Leipzig defender.
However, he is now drawing closer to a contract extension in Germany. Talks are ongoing, notably surrounding his release clause. Bayern Munich are open to handing him a salary worth €20m a year. PSG and Real Madrid may not be willing to match this offer.
