De La Cruz ruled out of Flamengo’s trip to Atlético-MG due to synthetic pitch | OneFootball

Flamengo will be without De La Cruz for Sunday’s Brasileirão match at Atlético-MG, the midfielder rested because of the venue’s synthetic pitch.

The club said in a statement that he was not selected for the 26 April fixture and trained in the morning at CT George Helal.

The Uruguay international has a chronic knee problem and therefore does not play on synthetic surfaces.

Flamengo also miss three others, with Lucas Paquetá recovering from oedema in his left thigh, Erick Pulgar nursing a right shoulder injury, and Jorge Carrascal suspended by the STJD.

Since Leonardo Jardim took charge, De La Cruz has seen more minutes, featuring 14 times in 2026 with one goal and one assist.

The inter-state clash, part of the 13th round, kicks off at 20:30 Brasília time at the Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte.
