De La Cruz trains at Ninho do Urubu, ruled out of Botafogo trip | OneFootball

Leonardo Jardim has omitted De La Cruz from Flamengo’s squad to face Botafogo. Medical advice is against the midfielder playing on the Estádio Nilton Santos synthetic pitch.

The club said in a statement that he is following a prearranged plan, was not selected because of the surface, and trained on Saturday morning at CT George Helal, Ninho do Urubu.

The rivals meet in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro on Saturday 14 March at Estádio Nilton Santos, kick-off 20:30 Brasília time. The match will be shown live exclusively on Amazon Prime Video via streaming.

Flamengo are also without Saúl, who is recovering from surgery on his left heel. Bruno Henrique remains in treatment for pubalgia.

Flamengo sit sixth with seven points. Botafogo are 17th with three, in the relegation zone.
