It was a heart-attack-inducing draw after a game where dominating was unlucky. Inter managed to secure the 1-1 final result thanks to De Vrij in the 93rd minute with an assist from the newly arrived Zalewski.

Simone Inzaghi's side tried to win the derby in any way possible. In the second half, the curse of three posts stopped Bisseck, Thuram and Dumfries whose shots all ricocheted off the woodwork to the left of Maignan.

There is an interesting stat regarding the posts: two of the last three times in which Inter have hit the post at least three times in a Serie A game have come against AC Milan, the last time was on 21 September 2019.

The defender has bagged his 12th goal for the Nerazzurri to once again confirm his offensive skills in games like that against the Rossoneri and how they can prove decisive. In fact, he has scored three goals against AC Milan in the league and has only scored more against Sampdoria in Serie A (four) in his career.

ZALEWSKI'S DEBUT

76th minute: Dimarco came off and Nicola Zalewski made his debut in a Nerazzurri shirt. The new Interista put in an unforgettable debut defined by pure adrenaline. Arriving the night before the derby, Nicola came on for the last 20 minutes and immediately left his mark with the assist for De Vrij to score the equaliser. Not only this, his performance was one of dynamism, technique and many ideas on the left, as with the cross for Dumfries' header that hit the bar.

THE DERBY STATS

It was an intense derby fought over until the very last second of play. The Milano derby ended in a draw for the first time since 1 March 2022 (0-0 in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semis), since then there have been seven wins for Inter and three for AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri remain unbeaten in eight of their last nine games against AC Milan in the second halves of Serie A seasons. Three of the ten goals scored in the Milano derby this season have come after the 89th minute, including two of the last three - De Vrij and Abraham.
