Decision hours for Koba Koindredi as Basel weigh €four million option | OneFootball

Koba Koindredi’s future is set to be decided, with Basel having until Tuesday 30 June to trigger a €four million buy option or see him return to Sporting de Portugal.

According to Superdeporte, Sporting do not plan to use the French player and are awaiting a firm response from Basel in the coming hours. There has been no communication so far, though the Portuguese are hopeful of banking the €four million to aid their window.

Koindredi has been important in Basel, but not indispensable this season.

After a strong loan at Lausanne, he stepped up to the Swiss giants, featuring in 41 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

If Basel do not pay the option, Sporting will look to move him on during July and August, as he is not in their plans. They intend to recoup their investment, though that could prove difficult.
