Jayden Fevrier settled the game in the 68th minute with a low left-footed strike from outside the box as Charlton Athletic beat Hull City 2-1.
Early on, Fevrier slipped a neat pass to Sonny Carey for an effort that was blocked (4.), signalling the angles he would keep finding from the left.
After the restart, he stepped inside and arrowed one into the bottom left from distance (68.), the game's defining moment. He later fed Greg Docherty for another blocked attempt (89.), then had a late effort of his own charged down in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time.
Fevrier's display mixed incision and graft: two shots on target, six successful dribbles and two key passes, plus nine possessions won to keep Charlton moving up the pitch.
Charlton Athletic rise from 20th to 18th and visit Swansea City next. Hull host Norwich City next.
