Francis Amuzu broke the game open in the 54th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box, as Grêmio beat Vitória 2-0.
The Belgian midfielder timed his run for Tricolor Gaúcho, taking goalkeeper Weverton's early release before driving low into the bottom right. The finish arrived after the restart and shifted the tempo towards the home side.
From there Amuzu kept pushing Nêgo back, carrying attacks into the final third and drawing defenders out of shape. He continued to threaten until being substituted (86.).
He finished with four attempts, three on target, and nine successful final third passes, numbers that underlined how he repeatedly advanced possession and turned territory into clear sights of goal for Imortal.
Because Leão da Barra's midfield left spaces between the lines after the interval, Amuzu received on the half turn and attacked those gaps. His direct carries pinned the full backs and ensured Tricolor Gaúcho controlled the key phases.
Imortal visit Vasco da Gama next. Leão da Barra host Mirassol next.
