Joe Hugill levelled in the 24th minute with a right-footed finish, then struck again as Kilmarnock beat Livingston 4-1.
He met Dominic Thompson's cross to sweep in and cancel out the early deficit, signalling where Kilmarnock would hurt Livingston most – deliveries into the box.
After the restart, he fed Findlay Curtis for a central chance that was blocked (48.). He then drifted between the centre backs to turn in Robbie Deas's pass for his second (58.). Moments later he tried from range, but his shot was blocked (60.).
Hugill finished with three attempts, two on target, a key pass and six touches in the box, underlining his constant presence around the penalty spot and his role as an outlet for crosses.
With Thompson supplying from the left and Deas stepping in from defence, his timing on near post and central runs kept Livingston's back line reactive and allowed Kilmarnock to control the decisive moments.
