Tomás Cuello struck in the 35th minute to extend Atlético Mineiro's lead as they beat Chapecoense 4-0. He later provided a stoppage time assist to cap a commanding display.
Early on, Cuello slipped Bernard in for a shot that was saved (8.). Moments later his own effort was blocked after cutting in from the left (9.). He then arrived centrally to sweep into the bottom right from inside the box (35.).
After the restart, the midfielder kept stretching Chape, carving another opening that Mateo Casierra saw blocked (88.). He then released a through ball for Dudu to finish in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time.
Cuello finished with three attempts, six key passes and four fouls won, underlining how he drove Atlético-MG's threat on the left.
Because he received smartly between the lines and attacked the inside channel, his movements kept the Verdão do Oeste back line off balance, while Galo repeatedly found him to control the game's key phases.
The display helps Atlético-MG rise from 14th to 10th in the table. Galo host Athletico Paranaense next. Chape welcome Vitória.
