Ryan Astley won it in the 90th minute with a glancing header from a corner, as Dundee beat Aberdeen 3-2. The defender's late strike settled a contest that had swung repeatedly.
Early on, Astley anchored the back line with smart positioning and headed clearances. He registered seven clearances before the interval and repeatedly shut down second balls inside the box.
After the restart he continued to dominate the area, winning duels and reading passes to break up counters. Then he arrived at the near post to steer in Finlay Robertson's cross following a corner (90.).
He finished with 12 clearances, two interceptions and three aerials won, plus one shot on target from three touches in the box. Those numbers underline how he controlled both penalty areas and decided the key moment against the Dons' delivery.
Because Aberdeen went direct and slung in crosses, the defender's timing on first contacts and late runs from set pieces kept Dundee stable and dangerous when it mattered most.
Dundee rise from third to second in the Relegation group, while the Dons drop from second to third.
