As Martin Odegaard returns, his midfield partner missed training and has not travelled to Italy
Arsenal have been handed a fitness concern after Declan Rice missed training ahead of their Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
The midfielder has been left out of the Arsenal squad that flew to Italy on Tuesday.
The reason behind the absence is unclear, but Mikel Arteta will address the issue at his pre-match press conference at 6pm UK time on Tuesday.
Rice has been a virtual ever-present for Arsenal this season and has missed just two games, their 1-0 win over Tottenham in September due to suspension and then last weekend’s 3-0 victory over Preston when he was rested.
He completed the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle and missed a late chance to equalise in injury time.
Arsenal have Martin Odegaard back in training after more than two months out with an ankle injury but now the fitness of Rice will be a fresh concern for Mikel Arteta, who will give an update on him when he holds a press conference in Milan on Wednesday evening.
Arsenal face a crunch showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
