Deco holds talks with Barcelona midfielder’s representatives – report | OneFootball

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco was seen holding talks with the agents of Dani Olmo and Joan Garcia yesterday.

According to SPORT, the meeting, which took place over dinner in the city, included Olmo’s representatives, Juanma Lopez and Andy Bara.

According to the outlet, the discussions centred on Olmo’s current form and Garcia’s recent injury setback, which occurred just days ago, necessitating surgery.

Is there any trouble?

Before their meeting with Deco, the two agents had already spent time with Olmo, sharing lunch and speaking about his situation at the club.

The midfielder, who signed a long-term deal running until 2029, has been gaining momentum in recent weeks.

With Gavi and Fermin Lopez out injured, Olmo is starting to get more chances in the attacking midfield role, a position he has long been seen as suited for.

Club president Joan Laporta was not present at the dinner. Despite his good relationship with both Lopez and Bara, Laporta had a separate engagement at another restaurant, where he was in talks with Barça’s medical chief and two visiting doctors from Argentina.

It is exactly the type of test where players like Olmo are expected to rise to the occasion. His agents are expected to attend the match from the presidential box, while Olmo himself is likely to start.

Manager Hansi Flick has already made it clear that he trusts Olmo. The pair were seen speaking briefly before training yesterday, a quick exchange that underlined the importance Flick places on him.
