Ermedin Demirović says he is not leaving VfB Stuttgart this summer, quashing July links. The Bosnia & Herzegovina forward has returned from a post-World Cup break after starting all four of his country’s matches in North America.
"Leaving wasn't an issue for me. I heard the rumors while on vacation, but I've always said that I want to stay with Stuttgart. I get along very well with the coach. Nothing has changed in my head about that," he told BILD.
Demirović has been directly involved in 43 goals across two seasons with Stuttgart. He noted the club face three competitions again and said a difficult campaign makes strong preparation essential.
He added that he is very happy at the club, wants to keep scoring and assisting, and aims to help the team. His anticipation for the new season is high.
The 28-year-old is also relishing the chance to meet compatriot Edin Dzeko when newly promoted Schalke visit at the end of November. Looking ahead to the Champions League league phase, he said he would like an away tie at Arsenal or Liverpool.
