Derby County Head Coach John Eustace has cooled talk of Celtic’s reported interest in Bobby Clark. The English midfielder is on loan from RB Salzburg but reports have emerged stating that Celtic are set to complete a £6m deal in January to bring the player to Glasgow.

A report from The Times stated that Celtic were set to sign the ex-Liverpool player in January, which was followed up by a further report from STV Sport indicating that there is interest in the player.

Martin Hardy, the Northern Sports Correspondent, revealed on Thursday afternoon that Celtic were keen on signing the player, who would add some quality in the midfield if he does sign. Although, Eustace indicated that it was the first that he had heard about a potential move for the 20-year-old.

Son of former Killie manager Lee Clark, the midfielder joined Liverpool from Newcastle’s Academy on a £1.5m deal in August 2021. Clark made 14 first team appearances under Jurgen Klopp, scoring once and assisting twice. However, Liverpool sanctioned a £10m departure for Clark and he moved to Austria with RB Salzburg in 2024.

After a season with Salzburg, in which Clark made 25 appearances and scored once, Clark returned to English football joining Derby County on a loan deal.
