Alfie Devine equalised (15.) with a precise finish from Andrew Moran's through ball on a fast break.

After the restart Milutin Osmajic nodded in from close range (57.) from a Lewis Norman Dobbin cross delivered from a set piece. Moments later, Devine swept in Osmajic's through ball (60.) to flip the game decisively Preston's way.

Daniel Iversen saved from Jesuran Rak-Sakyi in the closing stages as Stoke City pushed. Mark Robins' side introduced Sam Gallagher and Rak-Sakyi at half-time and lost Steven Nzonzi to injury soon after, but Preston's defence coped with the pressure.

Preston scored with all three shots on target. Stoke City registered 13 attempts but converted only once.

Next, Preston visit Leicester City. Stoke City host Sheffield Wednesday.
