DFB president Neuendorf blasts Infantino over FIFA private investment U-turn | OneFootball

DFB president Bernd Neuendorf has attacked Gianni Infantino after FIFA ditched plans to open its competitions to private investors, calling the U-turn inevitable.

The DFB president said in a statement that the united stance of UEFA’s member associations had helped bring about the outcome, and that all events around the Infantino-driven project must now be fully clarified.

He argued the investor push had failed spectacularly and criticised what he viewed as unilateral, opaque and ultimately irresponsible conduct by the FIFA president.

Neuendorf called for a different culture at FIFA, with decisions discussed and taken by members within the proper bodies.

He urged UEFA and other confederations to help entrench a transparent, collaborative decision-making process at the world governing body.
