Philippe Diallo has accepted the France squad’s proposals on World Cup bonuses and ticket allocations, according to L'Équipe.
Talks had dragged since the start of preparation, with no agreement on bonus amounts or on ticket allocations.
After a tense, fruitless meeting early last week, captain Kylian Mbappé and a three-player committee sent a counter-offer. Keen to avoid a saga during the tournament, Diallo accepted it on Wednesday.
The federation’s finances are strained, and a run to at least the quarter-finals would be needed to break even. Diallo said he felt no particular tension and that World Cup costs forced spending cuts.
Players will receive a bonus after the group stage, rising with progress, but the amount remains undisclosed. For reference, players earned 400,000 euros each in 2018 and 500,000 euros in 2022, and 2026 bonuses are not expected to be higher despite a larger FIFA allocation.
Several players have stressed their demands were not individualistic. The most capped among the 26 donate part or all of their sums to charities or staff excluded from such payments. Mbappé fronted the talks to carry team-mates’ views.
Initially, the FFF offered two free tickets per match per player with the option to buy six more at fixed prices. Diallo has now agreed to four free per player, with paid extras still available. That remains fewer than in 2022, and players must still juggle heavy demand.
