Another really bad result for Chelsea at the weekend has cranked up the pressure on Liam Rosenior once again, and more and more of the pundityocracy are speaking out with doubts about his future.

Paul Merson is a Chelsea fan, and he usually says it like it is. His thoughts on Rosenior are pretty clear.

He thinks that the players are giving up on the manager, which is the same impression a lot of us have got after four really brutal defeats on the spin.

“There are ways of losing football matches and that was a horrible, horrible watch at Everton. It didn’t look to me that the players were really on the same page as the manager,” Merson said in his column for Sky Sports.

Rosenior struggles after honeymoon wears off

The players seemed enthused by the change of coach initially, and the relief of a more relaxed manager to follow the rather intense and dull Enzo Maresca worked wonders. However, after that initial run, Rosenior has struggled to get the team back on track after bad results.

In other news…

Speaking on Match of the Day, Wayne Rooney was among the pundits who brutally took down Chelsea’s current transfer strategy.

Liam Rosenior was asked about his team’s running stats, and his excuse that they’re tired from the Club World Cup doesn’t really wash.
