Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been left out of England’s 2026 World Cup squad, with Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney selected alongside Harry Kane.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed his 26-man list on Friday morning after overnight leaks.

Calvert-Lewin scored his 14th Premier League goal in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Brighton, joining Watkins and Morgan Gibbs-White as top English scorers. Gibbs-White is also absent.

Toney had not featured under Tuchel for almost 12 months, last seen in a June friendly against Senegal. He has 32 goals in 32 Saudi Pro League games.

Calvert-Lewin ended a five-year international wait in March, coming off the bench against Uruguay before a pre-planned return to Thorp Arch ahead of Japan.

On Leeds’ podcast, he said returning felt great and that the World Cup is a childhood dream, adding he will keep scoring, accept selection is the manager’s call, and see what happens.

Former Leeds loanee Djed Spence is included. The Tottenham full-back joined in summer 2023 for a £1 million loan, played seven times under Daniel Farke, then returned to North London in January.

Elsewhere, three Leeds teammates have call-ups. Gabriel Gudmundsson is with Sweden, Ao Tanaka with Japan and Noah Okafor with Switzerland, while Anton Stach has missed out on Germany.
