Gianluigi Donnarumma’s stunning diving stop against Manchester United has been voted the Premier League’s Coca Cola Save of the Month for September.

The Italian wins the award in his very first month in the division thanks to a spectacular reach to deny Bryan Mbeumo in the second half of our comprehensive Manchester derby victory.

With City 2-0 up at the time, Mbeumo struck a volley across goal sweetly from the right only for Donnarumma to throw up a right hand and divert it beyond his post.

Our new goalkeeper has had a brilliant start to life at City, going unbeaten in his first six appearances across all competitions.

He’s kept three clean sheets and conceded just four goals in total.

His success ensures City have won the award in back-to-back months at the start of this season, following James Trafford’s reach against Brighton.

He overcame Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, Leeds’ Karl Darlow, Burnley’s Martin Dubravka, Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson and Wolves man Sam Johnstone to claim the prize.

The news also comes after Erling Haaland was named the top-flight's Player of the Month for September.
