Donovan Léon signs for promoted Abha Club after 252 Auxerre appearances | OneFootball

Donovan Léon has left AJ Auxerre to sign for Abha Club, newly promoted to the Saudi Pro League. The club announced his arrival on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper from French Guiana is an Auxerre stalwart, having made 252 appearances for the Burgundy side. He came through the club’s academy and played a prominent role in its recent history.

Aside from a spell at Stade Brestois between 2015 and 2020, Léon spent his career with Auxerre.

After returning from Finistère, he grew into a dressing-room leader, helping secure two promotions to Ligue 1 in 2022 and 2024, then preserving the club’s top-flight status.

His exit follows the departure of Lassine Sinayoko. Abha, promoted after last season’s Second Division title, will be his first taste of the Saudi top tier.

Abha’s squad includes Abdou Diallo, the former Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain defender.
