Dorival Júnior has dismissed any suggestion of a player swap as Corinthians pursue São Paulo midfielder Alisson, insisting he will not sacrifice members of his current squad.

Amid the discussions, the rivals drew 1-1 in the third round of the Paulistão, Tapia scoring for the visitors before Breno Bidon equalised in stoppage time.

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have assessed a move for the 32-year-old since the start of the week, with Alisson omitted from the São Bernardo game and Sunday’s derby amid talks.

Before kick-off, football executive Marcelo Paz acknowledged interest in Alisson, noting the derby slowed negotiations.

Speaking at Neo Química Arena, Dorival said claims he had made Carrillo or Martínez available were false and that no one has been put up for a swap. He added that he likes Alisson but needs reinforcements rather than departures.

São Paulo coach Hernán Crespo also ruled out any exchange, saying he did not require any Corinthians player and that any Alisson exit would be the midfielder’s choice. Corinthians have already unveiled defender Gabriel Paulista and midfielder Matheus Pereira, right-back Pedro Milans attended the derby and forward Kaio César is close to an agreement. They visit Santos at Vila Belmiro on Thursday at 19:30 in the fourth round.
