With Niklas Süle retiring from football, Borussia Dortmund have reportedly found a potential replacement playing in Scotland.
However, Dortmund isn't alone because the Daily Record reports that Bayer Leverkusen is also showing interest in Emmanuel Fernandez.
Both Bundesliga clubs were already keen on the 24-year-old during the winter transfer window, but never made an official approach.
Now, after several more top performances, they are said to be even more convinced of the Nigerian international's abilities.
The center-back has been playing for Glasgow Rangers since last summer and has established himself as an undisputed starter.
He also stands out for a number of reasons with with his resolute tackling, excellent vision, and aerial prowess on the pitch.
Fernandez's five goals in 22 league appearances also demonstrates his great potential from attacking set pieces.
Rangers paid English League One side Peterborough just three million euros for Fernandez, whose contract runs until 2029.
However, the right-footed player, who is on several scouting lists across Europe, is likely to have significantly increased his transfer value.
