After joining Borussia Dortmund on loan from Chelsea toward the end of the summer transfer window, Aaron Anselmino was thrown straight into action and impressed in his side’s 3-0 win over Union Berlin before the international break.
The deal with Chelsea did not include a purchase option for Dortmund, but the Black-and-Yellows are still open to the idea of signing the 20-year-old permanently, according to Sport Bild.
The report suggests Dortmund are looking to follow a similar approach as with Carney Chukwuemeka, who completed a permanent move to Signal Iduna Park after spending the second half of last season on loan.
Chukwuemeka asked Chelsea to make the transfer happen, which helped lower the price, and BVB’s management hope Anselmino will do the same next summer if both parties are keen to continue their partnership.
Anselmino was already on Dortmund’s radar during the 2023/24 season, but the club held off at the time due to concerns over his injury record.
