FC Bayern’s planning for the coming season is already in full swing. It’s still all about winning the double at the end of the season. Nevertheless, several regular players are apparently being critically scrutinized behind the scenes. Three names in particular are said to be the subject of intense internal discussion
As reported by SPORT1, Konrad Laimer, Alphonso Davies and Josip Stanisic are currently the focus of Bayern bosses, with Laimer in particular appearing to have undergone a noticeable change in mood among parts of the management team
In sporting terms, the Austrian continues to enjoy a high reputation at FC Bayern. Internally, his enormous willingness to run, his mentality and his commitment to the team are appreciated. However, the current contract situation is problematic
Talks over an extension to his contract, which runs until 2027, are apparently currently on hold due to the financial concerns of Laimer and his advisors
Honorary President Uli Hoeneß recently made an unusually clear statement about this on DAZN: „When you read what is allegedly being reported about his salary and his demands, then you have to put it into perspective: Konny is a player that I value very highly. He is extremely important for the team, as well as for the club’s external image. He works incredibly hard for the team, but he is not Maradona,“ Hoeneß explained
According to SPORT1, Laimer currently earns around eight million euros a year at FC Bayern, but the demand for an extension is said to be twelve to 15 million euros per season
Hoeneß was also clear about this. „Very few clubs in Europe can even offer what he currently earns,“ said the 74-year-old. He also added: „I don’t know what Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have offered him specifically, but it certainly won’t have been what his advisors demanded at the beginning.“

But it’s not just Laimer who is being viewed critically internally; according to SPORT1, Alphonso Davies is also being viewed with increasing skepticism – primarily due to his price-performance ratio
According to the report, there are doubts within the supervisory board as to whether the highly-paid Canadian is still indispensable in view of his recurring injury problems. Davies is therefore even considered a possible candidate for sale in the summer
Josip Stanisic’s Champions League first leg against Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, was a particular source of discussion. The Croatian put in a poor performance in the 4:5 loss in Paris and had major problems against PSG attacking star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
This performance is said to have triggered new doubts internally as to whether Stanisic can meet expectations at the absolute top level in the long term.
