Rangers face Dundee Utd at Ibrox on Saturday with the injury crisis somewhat back, as Philippe Clement announced who’s on and who isn’t for the visit of the Arabs.
Ibrox Noise takes you through the full list of absentees, and returnees.
Ross McCausland:
Had to withdraw from his international camp after arriving with a foot injury, but his boss says that’s ‘better now’ whatever that means. Not sure if he’s available or not.
Ridvan Yilmaz:
He is fully fit again, at long last – international break helped there, but he’s obviously rather behind for match fitness. But he will be available.
Rabbi Matondo:
Was fit again for about three minutes, but got injured in the recent B team match, so nope, he’s back out again.
Oscar Cortes:
The manager said his injury was long term, but now claims he’s returning to training next week. We’re not completely sure we trust this one.
Neraysho Kasanwirjo:
The new one, the big one, he’s had a nasty one on his knee, not ACL apparently, but either way he’s out long term and is seeing the surgeon today. Don’t expect to see him before 2025.
Tom Lawrence:
Remains out with his leg injury, didn’t even attend training as far as we know, not sure when the Welshman will return.
Danilo:
He’s still not match fit, so while he’s physically fit he’s a bit off the speed needed. We’re not sure how long before he starts.
Ianis Hagi:
Obviously fit but not match fit at Rangers’ levels, despite getting some shift in with his country – he’s a curious case of a player the manager doesn’t want and who isn’t getting his foot in the door. His own attitude doesn’t really help.
And that’s the lot – no one else is unfit as far as we know, the rest are all available, but that’s 8 who are either out, doubts, or not fit enough.
Not ideal.
