"Drop Salah - He Does More Harm Than Good": Fan Fury Erupts After Liverpool’s Unbeaten Run Ends
Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season ended on Saturday with 2 - 1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, in match where Mohamed Salah endured frustrating evening despite completing the full 90 minute.
The defending champions were undone by goals from Ismaila Sarr in the 9th minute & Eddie Nketiah deep into stoppage time.
Federico Chiesa's late equaliser (87) briefly raised Liverpool's hopes but Palace struck again to seal the upset.
Salah started under Arne Slot and remained on the pitch throughout but he struggled to impose himself.
His early free kick was blocked by the wall and several efforts were either off target or denied by Palace's defence and goalkeeper.
In stoppage time of the 1st half, he forced strong save while VAR checked potential handball before confirming Chiesa's equaliser stood.
The Egyptian also clashed with the referee in the 2nd half after appeals for foul were waved away.
On X, several Liverpool supporters expressed disappointment at Salah's display. One fan wrote:
"Bro was moving like a hologram today - invisible on the pitch"
Others criticised him as selfish with another saying:
"Drop Salah - he does more harm than good now"
"This man being ahead Raphinha was just a joke"
Despite the loss, Liverpool remain top of the Premier League table on 15 point. Palace, meanwhile climbed to 12 after claiming their most notable win of the season so far.
