Al-Gharafa’s Algerian midfielder, Yacine Brahimi, suffered a serious injury during his team’s match against Al-Wakrah, held as part of the tenth round of this season’s Qatar Stars League.
The 35-year-old scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot, keeping his team at the top of the table with 25 points.
The Qatari club clarified in an official statement that Brahimi will be out of action for two weeks due to a right muscle injury, wishing him a speedy recovery.
This absence is a significant setback for the local Algerian national team, especially considering Brahimi was a key pillar of the squad during their 2021 Arab Cup triumph in Qatar.
It’s worth noting that the next edition of the Arab Cup will take place in Qatar from December 1st to 18th, 2025, marking the third time the country will host the competition after 1998 and 2021.
