Toni Duggan says Andrée Jeglertz’s persona is imprinted in City’s impressive 2025/26 displays.
And the Club legend explained how the Swede is the type of manager she would’ve liked to have played under during her professional career.
Since his appointment ahead of the current campaign, he has presided over 20 wins in 25 matches in all competitions which sees the Blues at the Barclays Women’s Super League summit and in the last-eight of the FA Cup.
Across those assignments, there have been a swathe of memorable victories and fantastic displays as City look to win major honours by the term’s end.
And Duggan has hailed Jeglertz’s impact on the Club this season.
“From afar, now I’ve retired, I look at managers and think ‘you’re the type of manager I’d like to have played for’ and Andrée is definitely one of those,” she said.
“Sarina [Wiegman] is another. They just give off a persona and strike me as managers you’d run through a brick wall for and that’s what you want.

“Sometimes it’s not down to these crazy tactics, it’s a man-manager who will manage the team and individuals like human beings – and that’s the way he comes across.
“I can see why the girls are successful on the pitch and it reflects in his team. Looking at the players, Alex Greenwood and Bunny and Viv [Miedema] – even the personalities – it looks like a great group.”
City’s superb 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford moved the Blues to within five points of the Barclays Women’s Super League title with three top-flight matches remaining this season.
Heading into the business end of the season, Jeglertz’s team possess 49 points having won 16 of our 19 assignments so far and losing just two.
We’re also still fighting on two fronts with our FA Cup quarter-final with Birmingham up next on Easter Monday.
And Duggan believes the future is bright for City under Jeglertz’s stewardship.
She added: “It’s all come together at the right time.
“Building for the future, there are a lot of youngsters in this squad, it’s so exciting. We could dominate now for future years with this manager in charge and with this team.
“I’m excited.”
