Dundee Utd host Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership at Tannadice Park on Saturday, 20 December 2025, with fifth facing eighth and points important for the top half picture.
Dundee Utd and Hibernian shared a 3-3 draw in September, and across the recent head to head record the visitors have the edge with eight wins to four, alongside six draws.
The Arabs drew with Rangers and Motherwell before a 2-1 home win over Celtic. The Hibees' last five brought victories over Dundee and Falkirk, but defeats against Motherwell, Celtic and Rangers underline an inconsistent run.
Hibs are without Martin Boyle (injured). That shifts attacking responsibility towards Kieron Bowie, their leading scorer with six league goals and three assists, and Jamie McGrath on five. For United, Ivan Dolcek and Zachary Sapsford have five apiece.
Hibs have scored 27 and conceded 19, moving the ball with 81.49% passing accuracy and five clean sheets. They have relied on open play and penalties, taking six spot kicks and converting 83.3%, with no goals from set pieces. United average 42% possession and deliver plenty from wide areas, with 27.83% cross accuracy. The game may tilt if Hibs control phases on the ball while United target crosses and second balls.
Hibs sit fifth on 24 points and a win could strengthen their grip on the top half and potentially nudge them up the table. United are eighth on 20 and victory could lift them, tightening the pack in mid-table.
