Senegalese goalkeeper Édouard Mendy of Al-Ahli Jeddah has given his preliminary approval to extend his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the 2025/2026 season.
According to Saudi media sources, the club’s management has begun discussions with Mendy’s agent to talk over his conditions and expectations before starting official negotiations.
According to the newspaper "Arriyadiyah," the latest talks have shown great flexibility from both sides, suggesting a positive outcome could be reached in the coming days.
Official negotiations are expected to begin after the international break. The 33-year-old keeper has made it clear he is eager to stay with the club, confirming he has no issue continuing his journey at Al-Ahli.
As captain and a key figure in the squad, Mendy has played 90 matches for Al-Ahli, keeping 39 clean sheets and playing a major part in the club’s Asian Champions League triumph.
