Eintracht Frankfurt’s reported upon capture of Marseille striker Elye Wahi is – per Sky Germany and Kicker – nearly complete. Both sources report that the long-time SGE target is due in the RheinMain Metropolis tomorrow for a medical. Wahi heads to the Bundesliga to potentially serve alongside his fellow Frenchman Hugo Ekitiké in attack.
Olympique de Marseille were reported to be demanding the full €25m they paid to acquire Wahi from RC Lens. Eintracht – being not keen on doing so – sought to bargain for a lesser purchase price. Differences have apparently been settled via a €20m base-transfer-fee that includes performance-related bonus
Markus Krösche and the SGE administrative team have thus procured a replacement for the departed Omar Marmoush. Wahi’s lack of playing time this season (no starts since October) nevertheless suggest he shall require time to attain full-match-level fitness. Wahi has scored three league goals for his Ligue 1 outfit this year.
