Unai Emery confirmed that Matty Cash could feature for Aston Villa against Leeds this weekend.
The Villa defender has missed the last two games but has been back in training this week.
Emery said: “Matty Cash is coming back. He trained the last two training sessions and he is feeling good, and he is coming back.”
The Villa boss also revealed that Harvey Elliott was the latest addition to the injury list. He said: “Harvey Elliott, as well, is not available for tomorrow. The other players are available.
“The players who were injured are still being injured – John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans and Alysson.”
Marco Bizot is also out due to suspension, having been sent off in last weekend’s FA Cup tie against Newcastle.
Villa could go within five points of the top spot with a win this weekend, after league leaders Arsenal dropped points to Wolves midweek.
Previewing the match, Emery said: ” We are feeling so, so comfortable, third in the league. We are so, so happy, but we know we must be demanding to keep it, and to dream.”
“We can win, we can draw, we can lose tomorrow. Even playing and winning against them (in November), they competed and deserved more.
“They are a team that is competing fantastically, and of course, they achieved some very important points against difficult teams. I think now they are confident. Of course, for us there is a massive respect for them, and we prepare for the game as well as possible.”
