Emi Martínez sat out Palmeiras’ Monday session at the Football Academy after reporting pain in his left calf, beginning treatment with the medical department, Globo.com reports.
The Uruguayan has barely featured in 2026, appearing in two of six February fixtures for which he was named, starting in rotated line-ups against Botafogo-SP and Guarani in the Paulista.
Palmeiras now prepare to host Fluminense at 21:30 on Wednesday at Arena Crefisa Barueri in the fourth round of the Brasileiro. The leaders have seven points, with São Paulo, Fluminense and Bahia on the same tally but trailing on goal difference.
Monday’s session also unveiled the club’s new training wear. The squad worked on tactical scenarios and technical drills in small-sided work.
Training continues on Tuesday, with a light workout scheduled for Wednesday morning to settle the matchday selection. The following weekend brings the Paulista semi-final, a one-off home tie against São Paulo on Sunday, also in Barueri.
