Three months into the season and Kobbie Mainoo is yet to start a Premier League game for Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim seems to have found his preferred midfield pivot in Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro. The pair started together in United’s last three Premier League games, helping the Red Devils win all nine points.

United’s winning run has eased the pressure on Amorim. However, it has also somewhat vindicated his decision to leave fan favourite Mainoo on the bench.

The highly-rated midfielder requested to depart Old Trafford in the summer and attracted interest from several clubs, including Real Madrid. At the time, the Mancunians refused to entertain any exit talks.

Man United open to Mainoo swap deal to land Endrick

According to Defensa Central, United are now willing to loan out Mainoo to Real in the winter transfer window. However, they want Los Blancos to send Endrick on loan in return.

Joshua Zirkzee is thought to be deeply frustrated at his situation under Amorim, and will consider a move away from United in January. The Dutchman’s exit would leave Benjamin Sesko as the only senior option up front, potentially compelling Ineos to look for a new striker.

This predicament has seemingly led to Endrick landing on United’s radar.

The Brazilian has struggled for regular gametime under Xabi Alonso, finding himself behind Kylian Mbappe and Gonzalo García in the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu.

Endrick leaning towards Lyon

Still, Endrick, known for his impeccable ball-striking and movement, is admired by a number of top clubs.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Olympique Lyon have opened talks to sign Endrick on loan in January.

Defensa Central suggest the 19-year-old prefers to move to Ligue 1 despite interest from United.

Further, Real aren’t believed to be too keen on signing Mainoo mid-season, meaning this swap deal is unlikely to get off the ground.
