England field six 80 million euro players in World Cup semi-final against Argentina

Thomas Tuchel picked an England side for the World Cup semi-final against Argentina with a midfield and attack made up of six players who have commanded at least 80 million euro fees.

Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea for 137 million euros on Tuesday, becoming the fifth most expensive player in history, a move that completed the group of six, according to L'Équipe.

Anthony Gordon moved to Barcelona this summer for 80 million euros. Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich in summer 2023 in a 110 million euro deal.

Also in 2023, Jude Bellingham swapped Dortmund for Real Madrid for 103 million euros. Declan Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham for 116 million euros, a club record.

Elliot Anderson transferred from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City this summer for 135 million euros, an English-record fee until Rogers signed for Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
