A dedicated England fan is preparing to sell his second home to fund an extensive trip to the upcoming World Cup across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Andy Milne, a 62-year-old retired teacher, aims to raise £350,000 ($465,000) from the sale of his property in northern England, enabling him to attend what will be his tenth World Cup following the national team.
Milne, who currently lives in Thailand, has become a recognisable figure among England supporters, frequently seen with a replica World Cup trophy. His impressive record of attendance includes eight men's tournaments, with the hope of making it a ninth this summer, and the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Explaining his decision to The Mirror, Milne stated: "It is going on the market because I’m selling it to go to the World Cup. We have had a second home for 27 years so it felt like the right time to cash in."

He further elaborated on his plans: "I definitely want to see the whole tournament. I am going to the US on June 3 and will be there for seven weeks. So it will cost quite a lot of money."
His itinerary includes watching England’s opening match against Croatia in Dallas on 17 June, followed by fixtures against Ghana in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on 23 June, and Panama in New Jersey on 27 June to conclude the group stage.
The substantial travel costs associated with moving between venues are exacerbated by widespread criticism directed at Fifa over its ticket pricing strategy for the tournament.
Fan groups previously accused Fifa of a "monumental betrayal" in December, highlighting general sale tickets ranging from $140 for the cheapest group games to $8,680 for the final.
