Enrique Riquelme put himself before Real Madrid members at the Bernabéu, arriving for the Real Madrid-Athletic season finale in a Dani Carvajal shirt and a white scarf.

It capped a busy Saturday. Earlier he had been in Valdebebas to lodge his candidacy. The Electoral Board has one day to examine it and, if everything is in order, must set an election date within 15 days.

He reached the Board’s offices at around six in the evening after visiting a notary to certify his guarantee. He had intended to file in the morning but pushed to the afternoon because meetings ran through lunchtime.
